The latest release from Steve Sheppard is a moody creation, a lone bouzouki, the waves crashing on the beach and those long deep musical notes; they really set the scene for what is a journey into the dark days of lockdown. A seaside destination, without the tourists, the beaches are empty and no one is around. This is the story that is being told within the music, which is ambient in nature, but with glints of something bright trying to break through.

As the music progresses, we can see that last statement taking shape more and more, as things improve, but with tentative steps, people are looking forward, but that storm still there lingering, in the background. The piece ends with children’s laughter, a sign of a brighter future to come.

A special mention must be given to Andy Rogers who assisted in the creation of this wonderful composition. I am sure this is going to be a big hit for Steve Sheppard.
