I must admit off the bat that Carl Borden is one of my favourite musicians, his ambient creations
have manifested many a good and even inspirational mood for me personally, and
I am elated therefore to be able to construct this review for his part of the
Myndstream Summer Flights project, with a truly moving offering entitled Good Morning Light.
It’s strange really; neither of us could rest early this
morning, so we got up at 5:30 am and jumped in the pool, one can really see
through the stillness of the moment why it is the best time of the day, and
here on this new composition Borden has captured that to perfection.
The moody keyboards manifest that early morning peace and
calm with ease, and one can see within the mind, the clouds drift off to be
burnt by the early morning sun, one that ushers in a whole host of
opportunities that only a brand new day can give, an utterly moving, uplifting
and beautiful creation by Borden indeed.
