The slow and gentle refrains of this brand new single by Lisa Cullum called Silence speaks volumes for its brilliant arrangement, this new
manifestation starts in a deep dark well of tone and pulls itself into a
position that allows it to survey all, in a fine melodic and flowing way, and
whilst doing so she has captivated the listener with a simply spell binding
performance on piano.
The symphonic gestures of this neo-classical masterpiece then
blend into an almost eastern European flavour, and its silent pebbled streets
are only washed clear by the rain and the notes struck from one of the most
impressive piano presentations I have heard for decades, there is indeed a tale
being told here and this piece draws the listener in, to never let them go!
There is also something about this new single that screams
film soundtrack score to me, perhaps if Tim
Burton is reading this he should contact the artist with regard to any new
and haunting movies he has coming up, this new manifestation is of that
quality, and I fully expect it to be a massive hit on the charts and who knows,
perhaps an award or two as well.
