I must admit a happy smile drifted across my face as soon as
saw a new release by pianist Samer Fanek
was on offer, and even more so when I found out that I was going to be
reviewing it, this brand new offering, the first since 2022 is called Fleeting Struggle, and is a timely
reminder of just how very talented this composer actually is.
The opening foray to this latest master creation is steady
and very moody; a sense of apprehension is also built into its crafted
narrative, one that is soon elevated to a wondrous level with added percussion
and an almost Middle Eastern flavour into the mix as well.
The mid part of the composition pulls back slightly then builds
again into a more symphonic creation; from then onwards this classy new
manifestation flows like a full flowing winter river, with added guitar
included into its inventive narrative, and contains one of the most intelligent
codas to conclude this brilliant new single as well.
There can be no doubt Samer
Fanek is back, and will no doubt be riding the wave of the instrumental
genre whilst doing so. This new powerful piece Fleeting Struggle is the breath of fresh air we all
needed, and for me a guaranteed hit in the making for the artist.
