The beautiful memory of the wonderful Annie Locke will live forever in my musical heart; her style on the piano was one of the warmest I have ever known, the tones manifested from her constructions always filled one with such pleasant moods and feelings, and here on a single brought to our light by her partner Francis after her passing, is yet another moment to enjoy the sublime talent that was Annie Locke.

A Beautiful Memory is typical Annie, a soft and gentle pastiche of notes, a sweet melody, and a compositional flow like a river in June, full, rich, textured and colourful.

This new single is a testament to her performance ability and her musical structures; she always played with lush colours and qualities, and in doing so continuously manifested a tranquil tapestry of tone for us all to enjoy.

Over the years Annie gave us some splendid creations, and each and every one of them would always leave the audience with a pleasant smile and a sigh of contentment, and on A Beautiful Memory we find more moments of the pianist in that mode, and reminds us that while she may no longer be with us in our realm, her music is a timeless jewel that will shine its warmth over us for eternity.
