It’s great and somewhat usual to see a mother and daughter
duet in the genre, but it’s a positive thing as is this new single entitled Lush demonstrates, this a focused song
manifesting a theme of nature and global care, a vital part of what is really
important on the planet and around the globe right now. Here the pairing of Lis Addison & Kate Foster bring to
their audience a powerful if smooth reminder of how grateful we should be, and
perhaps to consider when we’re gone, leaving something better for those yet to
come.
The artists themselves describe it as an “anthem” encouraging
people to leave the world more beautiful than they found it and I could not
agree more, the soft pastiche of beats that weave their way through the single
are delightfully programmed, kudos Kate
Foster, and with a subtle tenderness that perhaps mimics the heartbeat of
our mother Gaia in its underpinned narrative.
Lis creates a delicate and smoothness of sound with her synths, and both of the artists manifest something quite transcendent with regard to melody and harmony. Lush is a gentle yet atmospheric song, one that brings the attention to the subject matter, but also caresses the senses with one of the finest productions I have heard for quite some time, surely if any single deserved to be a huge hit, it would have to be Lush by Lis Addison & Kate Foster.
