I adore the gypsy style of guitar playing, so listening to
this latest release, Walking Mojo by
James Filkins was an absolute
delight, and the addition of violin and accordion just added to that vibe
perfectly.
Listening to this arrangement, I could visualise a group of
friends sitting around a campfire together, playing music, dancing and simply
just having fun. In reality, the arrangement is about Filkins rescue dog Mojo,
and the daily walks that they take together. You can just imagine the fun they
have as they walk through nature.
James Filkins is known for his guitar playing, sometimes
melodic, sometimes vibrant and sometimes with a new age feel, but always for
his style and talent. I must also give a shout out to Valentin Štante for his violin playing, and the refined accordion
touches from Alex Somov, they just
add the right motifs to this release.
Walking Mojo by James Filkins is the perfect release to get you moving around, and I
can see this doing well for all lovers and seekers of good music!
