The beauty of this song isn’t purely its structures or even
arrangement, it is the place that it comes from, the very heart and soul of the
composer, this is simplicity in musical creation, taken from a twinkling in
time, a halcyon moment at the Quogue
Wildlife Refuge, a natural born manifestation of tone and timbre and called
Quogue Morning by guitarist supreme Shambhu.
I can really relate to this as it is something I too have
done, I used to take my guitar down to the coast, sit on the rocks and just
play with what the cadence and energy of the day brought me. Here Shambhu with guitar in hand has allowed
his muse freedom to breathe and create naturally, and the resultant offering is
utterly sublime and quite beautiful.
A smooth start befitting of the location, a sun kissed climb
of notes and tones adding to the vibrant yet easy laid back vibration of the
overall narrative, soft synth pads add a texture below and in the back drop of
the overall creation, and magic is born.
Quogue Morning by Shambhu isn’t just a happy piece brought about by a mood or a feeling within nature, it is the energy of stillness transmuted into living tonal delights, and brought to our attention in an almost meditative way as if saying, life is actually easy, it is us that complicate the tale. With ease this is a hit in the making, and a gloriously delicious slice of acoustic instrumental elegance.
