There is much about this new single from Bryan that I adore,
from the cover right through the entire composition and beyond. I first came
across the artist Bryan Quinn a
couple of years ago, through the medium of a single called Solitude from his album Rejuvenescence. Here today as we crawl to
the end of 2026 he releases another classy single called Solitary Refinement, and probably gifts us his most meaningful
offering off all time and a release from a forthcoming album entitled “Three Chords & The Flute”.
The mixture of acoustic guitar and flute is always a winning
combination and when listening to Quinn’s music one is mindful of three major
qualities. Emotional credibility. Quinn's music appears to work because it
communicates feelings that sound personally experienced rather than
artificially manufactured. This track alone has a clear musical identity. The
flute and guitar are not simply decorative sounds; they form the vocabulary through
which he tells his stories, which snares point three, the ability to connect
with listeners.
Quinn is an emotive story teller of great quality and Solitary Refinement is a fine example
of instrumental genius and a thoughtful reflective composer, who performs and
plays with utter honesty, wearing his heart firmly on his sleeve.
This track deserves to be a hit, and I urge everyone who adores flute music to dive deep into Solitary Refinement by Bryan Quinn, it’s the hermits guide to understanding thyself in medium of music.
